As a world leading technology association, we are glad to share with you a premier student mentorship program that you may be interested and benefited from.

Introduction:

With the fruitful experience in last year, Women-in-Engineering, IEEE HK section continue to provides the valuable mentorship opportunity to match secondary school student (F4 above is preferred) / associate degree / college students with insightful mentors. The mentorship is completely open, voluntary and free of charge, with a purpose to nurture the professional and personal development of future engineers.

We, at IEEE, help many youths who aspiring success to get guidance through mentorship program. Cases also prove that seasoned guidance and quantitative skills help young mentees succeed in their choice of careers, such as technology, consulting, finance, investment and general management,. In addition, our mentorship can benefit you, an educator, as much as mentees, by helping your students enhance problem-solving skills and broaden visions in learning. With sincere wish to add value in education, the mentorship scheme is well planned for your reference:

What young mentees can benefit:

  • A sense of vision about career direction
  • Personalized recognition and encouragement
  • Honest criticism and informal feedback; Wisdom concerning educational professional and life dilemmas
  • Reach out to more professional people in the field, including university professors, associate of multinational companies, C.E.O. of technology companies, and founding members of major engineering associations.

Who can be IEEE mentees:

  • Participation is completely voluntary and open to all Hong Kong full time students;
  • Female students are specially encouraged;
  • Passionate for learning; willing to identify and clarify their developmental goals;
  • Committed to devoting time and effort to develop partnership (Minimum Four meetings).

Any one would like to be the mentee for the Mentorship Program 2009 shall be registered by 23 July 2009.

  1. Certification will be presented to the school and mentees by IEEE upon successful completion of the programme.
