IEEE WIE Student Mentorship Program 2008

Promotional Leaflet, 1000px width

The IEEE WIE student mentorship program aims at nurturing the professional and personal development of future engineers by building one-to-one relationships between established engineers and young students with an aspiration to succeed.

Currently the program is geared towards enlisting mentees in tertiary education and F.5-7 students, irrespective of the gender (despite IEEE WIE being the organizer).

Throughout the year mentees will take initiative in contacting their mentors via agreed-upon communication channels and according to agreed-upon schedule. Mentors are expected to support their mentees in articulating their career goals by providing mentor's perspectives on professional development, by helping them overcome any hesitation they might have in becoming an engineer, and by serving as a bridge between the mentees and the industry.

The mentorship is completely open, voluntary and free of charge, with a purpose to nurture the professional and personal development of future engineers.

Certification will be presented to the school and mentees by IEEE upon successful completion of the programme.
